Let’s shape your work so it suits your needs and you’re successful.

(If you haven’t read the Stone Soup story on the About page, go and do so, before you read further!)

The way I do strategy and vision work is rooted in the tenets of the stone soup story: There are things we’ve hidden away, or maybe even forgotten, and when we pull them out to share with the larger community, we’re all better off for it. There’s lots of aspects I want to explore, but first, let’s start with a question for you.

Where are you dissatisfied with your business?

Maybe it’s…

…marketing (social media drag, anyone?)

… or your business structure (high ticket, low ticket, evergreen, webinar)

… or whether or not you can keep up like you have been (the bros sure do talk about hustle a lot)

… or maybe it’s just overwhelm with the 10,000 things you’ve been told you should be doing.

The thing is, that on top of everything that comes with running a business, we’re all bone-weary-tired.

Is it the pandemic or climate change or genocides or racism or capitalism?

In a word – yes.

I believe that the answer lies in curiosity, community, and sustainability.

Client Words.

It's hard to say if I think Monica is more compass, sage, or visionary.

Fortunately, all of these things can go under the heading of strategist.  Which she is like no other.

The overwhelm of what to do, how to do it, things to create, share, post, lather, rinse, and repeat had me nearly walking away from my business; work I hold dear.  But I didn't.  And that can largely be attributed to working with Monica.

Monica helped me unravel massive knots and see how they could become something beautiful.

It's no exaggeration to say that Monica's wisdom and calm presence offers one of the safest places to bring the vulnerability we often find at the intersection of sharing our creative work and entrepreneur hood.  My strategy sessions were a safe place to show up exactly where I was at, without feeling shame for where I was not, both in my head and in my business.  That in itself is transformative.

But integrated with her writing and content creation prowess, wisdom, and ability to point you in the right direction for you, it's a lifesaver.

I trust and endorse Monica enthusiastically and without a hint of reservation!

I've known both Monica for the better part of a decade, and we became close working associates through being professional development study buddies.

Monica is an exceptionally thoughtful strategist who is adept at translating conventionally effective business and marketing techniques into more ethical, sustainable forms, which is something I have consistently struggled to find in potential advisors and collaborators. Her thoughts and feedback about pricing from the lens of considering both sustainability for me as a chronically ill business owner, profitability, as well as my commitment to accessibility. She helped me see gaps in my business architecture and planning that prevented a lot of short and long-term mess, specifically in terms of breaking even energetically as being equally important to the fiscal health piece. Furthermore, having Monica as my primary collaborator on (re)designing Radical Luxury and keeping it true to my intention and vision while being profitable, sustainable, and USEFUL to my clients has been a breath of fresh air in a world where many a business coach or consultant would've looked down their nose at me and disregarded my explanations and strategic considerations for making it cooperative.

Overall, Monica's advice has been useful, yes, but her presence, attention, and expertise have also made it easier for me to differentiate between my genuine discernment as a businesswoman, fear, and a need to have more context. I work with Monica solely because every time we connect and/or I consult her, I walk away with a grounding in my own ethics and ambition, without doubt for myself or my capacity. That's worth its weight x10 in gold.

i wasn’t sure how i would feel about/on patreon. i thought maybe it would come to be one more “thing to do” or a place and way of feeling like i couldn’t keep up somehow.

i also knew that things have changed in me and my life, and i needed to begin changing some of the ways i create and share, to honor my own process and needs and capacity. so i began. and i have to say, i am really truly loving it.

i am buoyed by the support of these patrons, and it is creating a container and space in which i realize i am more fueled and lit up creatively than i have been in a long, long time. it is not one more thing to do at all. rather, it has become a place of return and reconnection, creating the bones of creating itself.

before i began i had a session with Monica, to talk through how patreon works and also to get super clear on how i wanted to show up there, what is i wanted to be creating, and how to make it a living breathing thing.

she was so completely fantastic, and i’m grateful for her vision and skills and insight.

One of Monica’s gifts is helping others to see and believe in creative opportunity. She expands what you think might be possible, and then invites you to envision how you might actualise that possibility in real and tangible ways. I can honestly think of no-one better to guide you.

Monica helped me to see Patreon as a creative playground where I could bring more of myself to my business, weaving in those parts and pieces which I’d been leaving out because they didn’t seem to fit. I’m discovering a renewed sense of fun and inspiration in my work, and I get to be freer in my self-expression. Not only that, but it’s allowed me to create a new channel for regular income at a time when financial stability is becoming harder to find for many.

If you are interested in exploring what Patreon might be able to do for you, for your business, for your art, for your self expression, for your creativity, then I highly recommend a session with Monica. Let her show you what is possible….

MONICA!!! Seriously, THANK YOU!!!! The insights I've had from our conversation, the things you helped me realize, and the ideas and information you gave me, SO helpful!!! You truly have a gift for listening -- not only are you a kind, patient listener but you are able to listen for what's NOT being said and draw that out. To have you point out "why are you slogging through writing when you don't want to write" -- so important! I didn't even think of that or realize that consciously! Now, I've shifted my video content creation process to just include the pieces I like -- talking to Otter and making slide presentations. And the process FEELS so much better because I'm not writing!!!! It's feels LIGHTER, and I’m getting it done twice as fast! What a relief! Talking with you has allowed me to shift to this new process, and I am thrilled and SO grateful! You have made a significant difference in my life and in my business! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Epiphanies. Lots.... Also, your point about underpricing hit on something I’ve been thinking for a while so the timing was excellent. And your ability to translate that into an actual number (or percentage) helps. Saying “I’m undercharging by at least 25%” actually feels okay.... So OMG thank you and if you want me to pay extra for that meeting go ahead and send me an invoice.

This is such a shining place for you. Deep, creative, analytical thinking blended with someone's delight and dream coming together.

Before talking to Monica, I was feeling confident in my direction, but I was incredibly muddled about the route to take to get there. Through the process of talking things through with her, everything slotted into place easily and cleanly. Monica really opened a way for me. I feel like the path in front of me on this specific piece of my business puzzle has a firm foundation, and I’m really confident about sharing my work, loud and proud!

I am one of those people that loves learning and strives to create better containers- because if you have been in a bad one…

So after years of workshops, certifications, trainings and a degree, I was drowning in information. So now I am not only drowning in ideas and overwhelm, I have no vehicle to move them forward.

    Enter Monica Herald…

Monica is easy. Where it is my instinct to make it be work, she comes in with ease and clarity. Where I want to complicate and constrict… Monica shows me all of the possibility and ways I can make work what I am already doing. All of this while having so much fun I felt like I was on a getaway. Because truly it was.

It was a getaway from all of the ways I was making this difficult. A getaway from all of the ways I was hiding from the work I want to do.

I now have a clear action plan, and many ideas for retreats, and classes, and for private coaching that I did not have before.

I was trying to be everyone else.

Monica held up a mirror and showed me myself.

Then she showed me I did not have to do it alone.

    Game changer.

Working with Monica is not just an investment in yourself, it is a kindness.

It is a gift that keeps giving over and over again.

I’ve done lots of masterminds, intensives, retreats, workshops, courses … but nothing has been as effective at helping me clarify where my business is going, find a way to work through the roadblocks, and actually make progress. Monica’s intensive day was a lot of work, a lot of fun, and just the right mix of high level strategic planning and practical nutting out of the details, identifying systems and processes, and figuring out what to delegate and to who. My brain is still buzzing and I have dates in my diary with tasks attached that will help me move forward. Oh, and a whole outline for a book and plans for two evergreen training courses. So yeah, definitely worth the investment!

Monica Herald is a rare gem - she infuses everything she does with an infectious sense of fun and possibility, and her depth and breadth of knowledge is more impressive than most people I know (including those with multiple complex graduate degrees). Monica has helped me brainstorm and plan for my business and how I show up in the world: we’ve looked at the things I do and how to get the needed support in a financially sustainable way within the bounds of my limited energy levels.

One of the things I love about working with Monica is her insatiable curiosity about everything. This is a big reason why I've found myself gratefully re-inspired by my own work after a conversation with her.

As a lawyer, I'm used to working with people who are strategic and analytical for a living -- Monica blends an astute ability to be this kind of person with a compassionate and friendly intuition that makes her contribution immeasurable.

She is an expert at helping people move between gathering information and curating things, and her ideas bank seems endless. I contact Monica when I want to re-energize the way I show up in the world and ask for help -- I know she's the one to call on when I want to think things over by talking it through with someone smart and switched-on, knowing that the result will be more than the sum of what both of us initially brought to the discussion.

The thing about Monica is the range of experiences and observations she brings to a conversation, as well as her enthusiasm. Experiences + Observations + Enthusiasm = Darned Good Ideas. Once she has a handle on what you're working on or aiming for, she'll connect it to something unexpected and maybe even peripheral -- like a video game or a line from a novel, or a story from her life or someone else's -- and apply it to your Thing in a way that may not be new, but it's certainly new to you. And that's what you're looking for, right? A fresh perspective, a new direction, a way out, or a work-around. In my experience, some of the best solutions come from outside your industry or your everyday, and Monica is one of those rare people who knows where they are and can point them out. One hour with Monica is worth a week of spinning my wheels alone. p.s. And if she suggests something that sounds obvious, don't be fooled ... if it had been truly obvious, you woulda acted on it already :-) It's right on point and perfectly clear, that's why it feels familiar
